Nissan announces two recalls involving 604,500 vehicles

Nissan has announced two global recalls involving 604,500 vehicles.

One recall is due to a faulty steering shaft and the other involves a battery defect.

Nissans first recall covers 303,000 Frontier pickup trucks and 283,000 Xterra SUVs from the 2001-2010 model years. The recall is due to a steering column flaw that can lead to the cracking of the steering shaft, increasing the likelihood of a crash.
